About this solution

Lab Objectives

  • Develop practical skills in making prosthetic and orthodontic devices o Learn the techniques for making removable, cast partial and fixed prostheses and implants on models. o Use dental technology materials correctly: resins, waxes, metal alloys, ceramics and composites. o Learn and apply impression, articulation and model mounting techniques.
  • Use dental technology tools, equipment and digital technologies o Work with traditional tools (Bunsen burners, spatulas, micromotors, pliers, furnaces) and digital ones (intraoral scanners, CAD/CAM, 3D printers). o Learn to read and correctly interpret the dental prescription. o Apply digital workflow protocols to produce crowns, bridges and aligners.
  • Learn hygiene, safety and professional ethics rules o Know and follow the procedures for handling materials and instruments safely. o Apply the health and hygiene rules required for the dental laboratory. o Develop awareness of the importance of accuracy, responsibility and collaboration with the dentist.

Learning Aims

  • Train highly qualified professionals able to produce custom-made devices that meet aesthetic, functional and health standards.
  • Develop precision, dexterity and an aesthetic sense: essential qualities for a dental technician.
  • Encourage the integration of tradition and innovation: combining craft skills with the use of digital technologies.
  • Encourage technical and design thinking: every device is the result of a logical, design-based and technical process that must be fully understood.
  • Foster a teamwork mindset: collaboration and communication between operators, technicians and dentists are essential in the laboratory.
