About this solution

Lab Objectives

The tec2SKILL® Connect lab was created to bring the real world of industrial automation together with advanced learning technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and digital simulation, offering students an immersive, interactive environment. The main objectives include:

  • Develop practical skills in programming and controlling automated processes, using real PLCs (S7-1200, S7-1500, LOGO!).
  • Guide students through the commissioning, testing, monitoring and troubleshooting of industrial systems.
  • Support progressive learning through practical exercises based on realistic scenarios (transfer systems, handling stations, electropneumatic systems, etc.).
  • Use digital and AR tools to represent and control physical processes on mobile devices, encouraging interaction, understanding and operational autonomy.
  • Introduce the basics of preventive maintenance and fault analysis, including in simulated environments and through dedicated applications (tec2SKILL® DETECT).

Educational Aims

The lab is a multidisciplinary training platform with educational aims spanning control technology, industrial automation and electropneumatics, offering:

  • Experiential learning through a combination of hands-on activities, PLC software (TIA Portal, LOGO! Soft) and augmented reality apps.
  • Training on the hardware and software architectures of Siemens automation systems (S7-1200, S7-1500, LOGO!).
  • Development of sequential logic using GRAFCET and block-based PLC programming languages (FBD).
  • Management of the full project cycle: from hardware and software configuration to testing and HMI visualisation.
  • Preparation for the world of work, simulating real production processes with industry-standard components and wiring.
  • Systematic fault analysis (troubleshooting) with interactive simulations and error logs.
  • The ability to read and apply technical documentation (wiring diagrams, layouts, flowcharts, I/O tables).

Conclusion

The tec2SKILL® Connect teaching package is a cutting-edge solution for technical and vocational training in automation, control and maintenance. Its distinctive features include:

  • Modern, engaging teaching, thanks to the integration of augmented reality and modular learning paths.
  • Comprehensive learning support, with structured manuals, guided solutions, application templates and intuitive interfaces.
  • A problem-solving approach, essential for dealing with real situations in complex production environments.
  • Versatility and adaptability: the lab is suitable for different training levels, from students in initial training to technicians already working in the sector.
