Logistics

A teaching lab for simulating logistics and warehouse activities, with ERP/WMS software, equipment for handling and coding parcels, RFID, scales, terminals and barcode printers. It includes teaching materials and models for the supply chain, transport management, packaging and traceability. Designed to develop skills in logistics, distribution and management.
MePA code: ABX-TECLO25

About this solution

Objectives

1. Develop practical warehouse management skills

Using shelving, simulated parcels, barcode readers and ERP software, students simulate real goods receipt, storage, picking, packing and order fulfilment operations, in environments structured like real training warehouses.

2. Apply the principles of integrated logistics and international coding

Activities involve the use of GS1/EAN-UCC coding, labelling, RFID and the management of logistics information along the supply chain. Students develop skills in traceability, standardisation and system interoperability.

3. Use professional software for logistics simulation and planning

The equipment includes ERP platforms (Zucchetti, Odoo, TeamSystem), simulation tools (FlexSim, Simul8), advanced Excel and access to ITL, WTO and UIRR databases, for modelling logistics flows and analysing performance.

4. Simulate freight transport and related documents

With teaching aids, scale models and simulation stations, students learn how to manage shipments, complete documents (CMR, DDT delivery notes), plan routes and apply ADR regulations, in line with intermodal transport scenarios.

Educational Aims

1. Integrate theory and practice in logistics management

The lab enables experiential learning of the concepts of supply chain, transport, storage and distribution, combining real materials and digital aids in collaborative and simulated activities.

2. Acquire skills in management and simulation software

The PC workstations are equipped with ERP-WMS software and logistics process modelling tools, preparing students to use professional tools in real business settings.

3. Be able to prepare and interpret technical documentation

Students develop skills in completing and analysing delivery notes, labels, customs documents and intermodal tables, improving their organisational skills and attention to operational detail.

4. Promote safety and environmental awareness

All activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations, with PPE, signage, fire extinguishers, ventilation and spaces designed to raise awareness of sustainability and operational safety in the workplace.
