About this solution

Objectives

1. Encourage creative and technical design

The lab supports product ideation and development using drawing tools, CAD/CAM software and equipment for cutting, shaping and assembling materials.

2. Combine digital technologies with manual work

Equipped with 3D printers, scanners, soldering irons, drills and multi-purpose tools, the lab lets students combine craft skills with digital fabrication tools.

3. Document and communicate design processes

The multimedia area, equipped with video cameras, microphones and editing software, allows activities to be recorded and presented, building communication and teamwork skills.

4. Work safely in inclusive environments

PPE, extraction systems, signage and accessible workstations ensure safe environments suited to all students, promoting responsible behaviour.

Learning Aims

1. Train students to be competent in design and prototyping

The lab makes it possible to experience every stage of the creative process, from design to the physical production of models and prototypes, in a professional setting.

2. Develop design thinking

Activities encourage problem analysis, solution ideation, evaluation and redesign through iterations and group discussion.

3. Promote the sustainable use of materials

Students learn to manage consumables such as wood, PLA, fabrics and paper with attention to efficiency and creative reuse, following the principles of eco-design.

4. Prepare students to work in multidisciplinary teams

The lab encourages collaboration between students with different skills (graphics, technical, communication), simulating coworking spaces and design studios.
