About this solution
Objectives
1. Understand safety standards and symbols
The course introduces the DIN VDE 0701/0702 legal requirements, examining rating plates, protection classes, insulation and types of protection, and matching the correct symbols to electrical devices.
2. Carry out tests on electrical appliances
Using a set of 10 device simulators, students carry out functional and safety tests on class I, II and III appliances, simulating faults and measuring parameters such as insulation resistance, leakage current and touch current.
3. Assess suitability for the place of use
Students learn to choose the right devices for specific environments by checking their regulatory and operational compatibility, taking environmental and regulatory factors into account.
4. Interpret and document the results
The programme teaches students to read and evaluate test results correctly, troubleshoot faults systematically and draw up technical documentation to the required standards.
Educational Aims
1. Develop practical skills in safety testing
The set makes it possible to practise standardised inspection procedures with professional instruments that give visual and audible feedback for immediate evaluation of the tests.
2. Simulate real conditions and controlled faults
The simulators include faults that can be activated by switches, so students can practise recognising and solving problems and become more operationally ready for maintenance or post-repair testing.
3. Foster an understanding of VDE tests
Through the exercises in the student and instructor manuals, students learn the test sequence, the limits to be observed and the documentation procedure according to VDE 0701/0702 and BGV A3.
4. Prepare for certification and technical responsibility
The training package prepares students to work in line with the requirements of European regulations, using digital touchscreen testers, USB interfaces, built-in memory and automatic report generation.
