Energy Measurement Technology – Power Quality Analyser

The energy measurement technology training system enables the analysis of fundamental electrical quantities in an industrial context. It includes instruments for precise measurement of power, voltage, current, power factors, harmonics and more, using modular boards and professional devices, supporting hands-on experience and real-world simulations.
MePA code: ABX-TP556

About this solution

Objectives

1. Measure the fundamental quantities of electrical energy

Students learn how to measure active, reactive and apparent power on loads such as lamps and motors. TRMS instruments allow precise analysis of real operating conditions.

2. Analyse harmonics and imbalances

The lab makes it possible to identify voltage and current harmonics and analyse their impact through vector graphs and three-phase diagrams, supported by digital displays.

3. Assess energy efficiency

By analysing the power factor (λ and cos φ) and using energy meters, students assess the consumption and efficiency of electrical systems while simulating real conditions.

4. Carry out energy diagnostics

The hands-on approach makes it possible to carry out energy tests on different loads, checking imbalances, overloads and abnormal behaviour in three-phase systems in real time.

Educational Aims

1. Develop practical skills in electrical measurement

The training package allows direct use of advanced measuring instruments, helping students understand measurement principles and read technical data correctly.

2. Combine theory and practice in an industrial context

The modular boards and devices included allow real scenarios to be simulated, linking theoretical concepts to lab practice with professional instruments.

3. Promote efficiency and preventive diagnostics

Students learn to identify signs of energy waste and correct inefficient configurations, through a critical reading of the measurements and indicators provided by the instruments.

4. Prepare for the use of digital and web-based interfaces

The system includes instruments with an Ethernet interface and a built-in web server, preparing students to use remote monitoring dashboards and browser-based control.
