Description
The Basilicata Region has published thePublic Notice “I Laboratori STEM” (STEM Labs), an important initiative that makes €1,000,000 available to fund innovative teaching projects. The aim is to support state and state-recognised (paritarie) lower and upper secondary schools in Basilicata in setting up labs that promote learning in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), languages and digital skills.
Objectives and Aims
The initiative, approved by Regional Council Resolution no. 482 of 5 August 2025, aims to turn schools into “places of engagement, inclusion and enriching experiences”. Specifically, projects must:
- Introduce new teaching methods for STEM, language and digital subjects.
- Improve the education system so that it provides the skills needed in innovative sectors such as the circular economy and the green economy.
- Reduce students’ skills gap by adopting innovative learning approaches.
- Raise the quality and appeal of the school’s educational offer.
- Recognise and reward students who achieve good results, encouraging wider participation.
How to apply
Applications for funding can be submitted online only, using the form available in the “Avvisi e Bandi” (Notices and Calls) section of the Basilicata Region’s official website (www.regione.basilicata.it).
