Description
The Digital Revolution in Our Schools: Staff Training (DM 66/2023)
The Ministry of Education and Merit is launching a strategic initiative for state schools: Ministerial Decree 66/2023. This call is a unique opportunity for every school to invest in the digital training of its staff, from teachers to ATA staff, so they can navigate the digital age with skill and innovation. Now is the time to strengthen the foundations of state education for the challenges ahead.
Why Is Going Digital Crucial for State Schools?
Digitalisation is not just an option but a cornerstone in the evolution of state schools. It means:
- Cutting-edge Teaching: Giving teachers the tools for more interactive, personalised and stimulating lessons that capture our students’ attention.
- Skills for the Future: Making sure the young people we educate are fully equipped with the digital skills demanded by the world of work and by society.
- Administrative Efficiency: Simplifying bureaucratic and management processes, freeing up time and resources for what really matters: learning.
- Genuine Inclusion: Using technology to break down barriers and create accessible, personalised learning pathways for every student, fostering a fairer environment.
State schools, the beating heart of our education system, have the potential and the duty to drive this transformation, setting an example of excellence and adaptability.
DM 66/2023 for State Schools: Objectives and Resources
Ministerial Decree 66/2023, formalised by public notice ref. no. 130341 of 9 November 2023, specifically targets the digital development of staff in state schools.
Who can take part? All state schools in the first and second cycles of education may submit projects.
What does the call fund? Eligible projects must focus on training pathways that:
- Strengthen the digital skills of all school staff (teachers, administrative, technical and auxiliary staff).
- Encourage critical and creative use of technology in everyday teaching.
- Improve the effectiveness of digital management of school and administrative activities.
- Support the integration of innovative teaching methods enabled by new technologies.
Available Resources: DM 66/2023 has allocated a total budget of €10 million exclusively for state schools. Each eligible state school will receive funding that includes:
- A fixed amount of €3,000.00.
- A variable amount calculated in proportion to the number of students enrolled in the 2022-2023 school year, as recorded in the National Student Register.
The resources will be managed through the “Futura PNRR – Gestione Progetti” platform.
Deadlines to Keep in Mind: Project proposals must be submitted no later than 30 September 2025. Meeting this deadline is essential so as not to miss this significant opportunity.
